POLAR SKATE CO

Both for streetwear and skateboarding enthusiasts, Polar Skate Co is one of the most distinguished independent skate clothing brands on the scene, managed by its founder Pontus Alv. The collections draw on Alv's art, culture and personal skate scene from his home in Malmö and other regions in Europe.

His collection for this year 2019 brings warmer tones to a selection of styles, while also featuring new representations of street life and crime by Jacob Ovgren, Stefan Narancic and, of course, Alv himself. Striped designs continue to be theirmust-have, and they use new printing techniques  alongside textural velvet and lightweight water-resistant polyester, which respond to diverse weather conditions while maintaining Polar’s distinctive design. The boxy fit continues to be a favourite, with its “No Comply” silhouette, which came to life this season through a selection of custom printed fabrics: check out the work shirt, their surf pants  and the Polar fleeces, all of them designed and manufactured in Europe.

Skate Co. saw Alv working on the scene in Malmö, which prompted him to make experimental skate videos such as “The Strongest of The Strange” and “I Like It Here Inside My Mind”. His personal creative style is what helped plant the initial seed for Polar, and his videography style set the tone for the brand's image. Although his latest masterpiece, “We Blew it at Some Point” showcases his gear and skateboard at another level.
